On Tuesday morning, an M.T.A. bus fatally collided with and killed a worker at the College Point depot in Flushing.
Stephen Livecchi, 59, was struck a little before 10 a.m. when a bus went into reverse, according to the NYPD. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Livecchi had worked for 37 years at the M.T.A., serving most recently as a bus helper-maintainer.
The death is the second in the past seven days; St. Claire Ziare Richard Stephens passed near the 125 St 4/5/6 station early last Tuesday morning.
“This is a very sad time for all of us,” said TWU Local 100 President Tony Utano. “We will conduct a thorough investigation to determine what happened.”
